I am having my spouse call to set up a psychiatry appointment. I have no tolerance for redundancies, and stupid questions, which is why I am having them make the call. HOWEVER, the company requires a release of information for the file they haven't made yet.
WHY on EARTH would you require a ROI for a patient that DOESN'T EVEN GO THERE. The state has no qualms with taking a patient and throwing them in a psych unit and not telling their family members where they are for a week because "they are a ward of the state and their family doesn't need to know". Doctors can call and get any information they want by just asking about a specific pt and saying they are their doctor. No ROI is needed, but apparently to see a doctor, you need an ROI in your file before you see the doctor.
